Veliaht has quickly become the series that has us eagerly counting down to its next episode, but watching Episode 2 felt extra special because we were RIGHT THERE, well, behind the scenes, when the scene with the iconic Bosphorus bridge backdrop was filmed. Pretty wild, right?
If you’re yet to check out the series (you’re missing out, by the way), “Veliaht” is an unmissable family drama that blends passion, betrayal, and revenge in a story of power and forbidden desire. At the heart of the story is Zülfikar Karslı, a powerful tycoon facing the end of his reign over the grand terminal bus station. Under pressure with an election looming and rivals threatening his empire, Zülfikar devises a plan to protect his legacy: replacing his rightful heirs with an impostor son, Timur. The impostor moves into the Karslı family mansion and soon after, a forbidden romance begins with Reyhan, the wife of Zülfikar’s real son. RIGHT. Now imagine how much drama fills the mansion as more secrets unravel, and the line between loyalty and ambition blurs.
What you see on screen — the brilliance, the energy, the chemistry — is all thanks to a cast and crew who clearly love what they do. The moment the director called “Action!” everyone locked in, bringing their A game. Then came “Cut!” and just like that, the whole set was buzzing with infectious energy and laughter until the next take.
Meeting the series stars Akın Akınözü and Serra Arıtürk (pictured above) was an absolute highlight. They were both so incredibly kind, and their excitement for the series was palpable. Getting to shake hands with director Sinan Öztürk was just as awesome, along with meeting so many of the talented people who make this series possible.
More than anything, what was truly remarkable was learning about the sheer amount of work and passion that preceded bringing the series to life. Given how good the series is, you can probably guess how much.
TLDR: We’re hooked, and if we’re being honest… we CANNOT wait for what’s coming next.
