Shows that incorporate one or more of these elements—alongside strong storytelling and a talented cast—tend to captivate audiences worldwide.
For instance, Forbidden Love, a golden title, masterfully weaves intrigue, hidden secrets, and a compelling love triangle, while Time Goes By stands as a perfect example of family relationships, conflicts, love, and the pursuit of justice throughout life’s journey.
While Turkish dramas continue to expand globally, there remain some untapped markets/ countries. Are there specific markets or countries where you think Turkish dramas would genuinely resonate, and why?
LATAM and MENA are among the most popular regions for Turkish dramas, largely due to cultural and lifestyle similarities. This is an undeniable fact.
Additionally, the Balkans continue to embrace Turkish series and stories, as they share a common value and geography with Türkiye. However, the region has yet to reach its full potential. Similarly, the CIS region remains an area that deserves greater focus and development.
Meanwhile, Asia represents an untapped market. Given its strong local content production and relatively closed media landscape, it has been less exposed to Turkish dramas. However, the unique storytelling, rich locations, and cultural familiarity rooted in shared value could make Turkish series a valuable addition to the region’s content landscape.
Kanal D International has had success with remakes in the past. Which of its titles do you think have strong potential for adaptation, and what makes them well-suited for international audiences?
Adapting formats can be challenging, requiring significant effort and meticulous attention to detail if the story lacks a strong foundation.
