Kanal D replaces the leading lady of 'Catı Katı Aşk'

In an interesting turn of events, Kanal D has opted not to cancel their low-rated summer series, Çatı Katı Aşk. Sailing the sinking ship to the end, the channel has instead decided to replace Ezgi Şenler (Ayşen), the show's lead actress since the show started in July.

Per reports, those with the powers that be decided this late in the season that Ezgi was indeed not suited for her role, which in turn cost her her role in the MIA Yapim produced romantic comedy.

No time was wasted in finding her replacement, as as of Episode 14, Selin Şekerci, the lead actor's (Furkan Andıç) BFF, will be joining the series as a brand new character, Şirin.

Selin previously starred alongside Furkan Andic in Star TV's short-lived dramedy, Kaçak Gelinler, which aired in 2014.

Catı Katı Aşk is currently set to be showcased as "Romance Next Door" by Kanal D International at this year's MIPCOM event, being held October 12 through 16.

Çatı Katı begins with the addition of two foreign guests in a large and warm family. Ateş and Yasemin, who joined this family, living with solidarity and holding onto each other, with a tiny “lie”, will have their first encounter with love under this roof, and then they'll be tested with their lies, but over time they will experience friendship, the act of sharing and most importantly, love. Çatı Katı is actually the story of those who have just made it into life, those who carry the struggles of this world on their backs. Those who knit their nest one after the other. But above all, it is a love story. A story about characters who are culturally and socially from each other as they try to resist the love they feel for the sake of their families. While life has left these young characters with such a heavy burden to carry, will this strongly-bonded family be able to overcome all the difficulties and stay united?
