The cast of “Evlilik Güzeldir,” an upcoming series set to premiere on TRT 1, recently gathered for its first table read. Produced by Hasan Kaçan, Zafer Yiğit and Ahmet Şevki Peker, the series is directed by Şafak Bal and Serap Danış Koçak and written by Baykut Badem, Hasan Tolga Pulat, Hazan Toma and Seçil Çömlekçi.
Set against the rapidly changing landscape of modern city life, “Evlilik Güzeldir” will offer a warm portrayal of the family ties, solidarity, love and hope we have come to miss. Blending familial warmth, humor and romance within a single story, the series will feature scenes that touch the heart as much as they bring a smile. By telling stories drawn from everyday life through the values we long for, it will create a sincere, uplifting world that viewers of all ages can enjoy together as a family.
At the heart of the series is Mesut Bahtiyar, a marriage registrar known for having officiated a record number of weddings, who lives with his five daughters and elderly mother in one of Istanbul’s most distinctive neighborhoods. Having wedded thousands of couples over the years, Mesut believes marriage is more than simply signing a document; it is a precious home built through love, effort and sacrifice. His greatest dream is to see each of his five daughters, all with very different personalities, happily build a home of her own.
In the series, the Bahtiyar family’s journey through the trials of love, family and life is enriched by a colourful host of characters from different walks of life. Their world intertwines with the stories of couples whose paths cross at Mesut’s wedding table, as well as those who turn to the Saadet Center, run by Saadet, with their own hopes and stories of love and marriage. Each episode will offer stories that sometimes make viewers laugh and sometimes move them, while placing love, sacrifice, solidarity and hope at their heart.
