MIPCOM 2024: Calinos Entertainment Celebrates 25 Years With Stars of 'Hidden Garden'

Today (Oct 21), Calinos Entertainment celebrated its 25th anniversary in the presence of the stars of its latest series, 'Hidden Garden.'

The well-attended event on the first day of MIPCOM took attendees on a nostalgic journey as an emotional Firat Gulgen, CEO and Founder of Calinos Entertainment, momentarily stood speechless, reminiscing about how far the company has come. 

For Calinos Entertainment, the next major milestone would be getting its new series Hidden Garden, to well over 100 territories. If the enthusiasm shared about the series by the leading actors, Ebru Şahin and Murat Yildirim, is anything to go by, the show is poised to captivate international audiences and achieve global success.

Speaking on the series, Yildirim recalled a dream he had of working with producer Erol Avcı. "I told him about the dream [I had], and he said he would send [me] his best scenario. He sent me "Hidden Garden," and I said, this is the one I want," stated Yildirim.

For Şahin, on the other hand, starring in the series meant she got to play a strong female lead, an idea she was very keen on. Championing single mothers, she stated, is important. 

 

Hidden Garden, currently on air in Türkiye as Gizli Bahçe, tells the story of Nazlı (Şahin), a poor, single, and young mother living with her son Memo. When Memo’s powerful and wealthy uncle, Demir Akçınar (Yıldırım), learns that his late brother had a son, he sets out to gain custody of Memo. Upon discovering Nazlı’s profession, Demir decides he cannot allow his nephew to be raised by such a woman. He launches a fierce battle to gain custody of Memo. However, Nazlı, who finds herself caught in this struggle, is not the person Demir thinks she is—she has an even bigger secret. As Nazlı and Demir fight for Memo’s well-being, the Akçınar family's schemes, long-hidden secrets, and shadows of the past will complicate their growing but seemingly impossible love.
